After missing for almost a year, Allen McAvoy returns home to find a family falling apart, and his adopted brother Steve taking care of his wife. The death of his adopted parents sparked his disappearance, and now everyone wants answers — including his biological sister. As a fight over the family inheritance brews in the background, both brothers are thrust into a world where their loyalties to one another and their country are ferociously challenged. Will they be able to mend their own small world, or be a part of the destruction of the world at large?
As an indie filmmaker, I always use my world to make films that are honest and real. Orphaned started out as a brother picture inspired by the differences between myself and my own brother. Beneath the surface, its underlying commentary on how tragedy affects the average American family was fueled by my father's recent accident that almost left him without a leg. Having experienced firsthand the ordeal that is our healthcare industry, I felt compelled to shed light on this dark reality that exists for so many families.
Not it's time to turn it up a notch...not all the way to eleven, but close. With a complete script and key cast and locations in place, it's simply a matter of funding. Production is tentatively scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2010 and wrap by Spring 2011. Your donation and support will help us meet these timeline goals and ultimately make one heck of a movie. :-)

We're still casting for a few other roles. Please contact me if interested.
We're also back with our old crew from The Brave and the Kind, including my partner in crime Sean Donnelly, our old friend and Steadicam guy, Kurt Warner, and hopefully Bill Dillon on sound.
I have put together a budget of $20,000 which comfortably covers all costs of production, actors, crew, locations, and equipment. My previous two feature films were made for a combination of less than 20,000 dollars; I am extremely comfortable at the micro-budget level because it forces me to think creatively and deliver a great movie without leaving behind any waste or lasting environmental impact.
